Caroline Hoover is an award-winning screenwriter, community volunteer, and mother. She holds an MFA in Writing for Film and Television from the University of Southern California, and has worked for HBO Films in Development. 

She is currently a member of the 2026 cohort of the Writers Guild Foundation Writers Access Support Staff Training Program, which prepares TV writers with the skills and training to be Script Coordinators and Writers’ Assistants, with the goal of creating new pathways into the industry for underrepresented writers.

She also belongs to Lab Twenty6, a professional writers’ group in Los Angeles that stages weekly table reads with live actors at a theater in Hollywood.

When her children attended Sabot at Stony Point, Caroline was on the Board of Directors and chaired the school’s first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She has also been a member of the Virginia Screenwriters Forum and a Community Leader for Sundance Co//ab.

Caroline grew up in Wyoming (the big square state out west – nope, you’re thinking of Colorado – the other big square one, above that, with more tumbleweeds than people). In the 2nd Grade, she won an award for her story “The Glowing Green Mittens,” and has been chasing that external validation high ever since.

She plays the fiddle, does Improv and stand-up comedy, and is terrified of opening tubes of biscuit dough.
